Harley
Male/neutered/shots current
14 months old
16 lbs

Do I REALLY Look like a Harley?????

Harley???  Isn't that a motorcycle? I don't go varrrrooommm, varrrooooommmm...........I'm just sweet and cute, cute, cute.

And no orthodontist for me. As you can see, my teeth are lined up perfectly even if they do all show. But it makes me look mean, doesn't it. Hah! I don't have a mean streak in my body but perhaps the sight of those teeth will keep the boogie men away from your door especially if I could learn to say "Arrrggghhhh".  Or I'll look at them and YOU say "Arrrggghhhh" from behind the door.

I love my color - like butterscotch pudding with a bit of chocolate drizzled down the ears.  Hmmmm - is it time to eat yet? Speaking of eating, my foster mom says I eat well, I have an excellent personality, travel well in the car and prefer to be SAFELY in my crate when we do go for a drive.  I can leap up on things in a single bound but I'm not related to Superman.

Lastly, I have the puppy energy. Remember, I'm 14 months old so the puppy energy could be around for a while yet. If we went for walks every day that would be a really good thing for both of us.

I'm about as perfect as any little dog gets and I can remain that way for my entire life if you remain the good owner and treat me the way any dog deserves to be treated.

If you adopt me, I guarantee you it will be "happily ever after" if you do the right human things pertaining to dogs which means I'll do the right doggie things in return.  When shall we get started?

Oh and before I forget, I am a tall boy, LONG back legs, maybe related to a Lhasa in my past life, but I act, walk and talk Shih

Sarah
Female/spayed/1st set of puppyshots, needs two more when her age allows it
9 weeks
4 lbs (currently)

She is adorable, Sarah is a very social lil girl, and had absolutely no problems easily adjusting to other dogs and anyone who pays attention to her. She and Boo love to play together, and are about the same size, though Boo is pretty much all grown up at 5 lbs, and Sarah will most likely be about 14 lbs when mature.

Do you know what puppies love to do?  Eat, poop, play and sleep... and alot of it!

All puppies, especially small breed dogs need constant attention and cannot be left alone for long periods of time.  Puppies need to be taken out for potty every 2 hours or more throughout the day.  Individuals without the proper time commitment need not apply.

Puppies are hard work! But the  joy they bring, it is all worthwhile:-)

Darling Sarah is now adored by her new parents and their daughter residing in Snohomish, WA

Peek-A-Boo
Female/spayed/shots current
7 months old
5 lbs
*precious lil Boo, lost her life in an accident on June 24/11*

Peek-a-Boo, I see you, I think you would love me, too.

I'm just a little darlin' who is going to need a very special someone who could be with me pretty much full time. I've had a challenging start in life. A great lady decided to take me home from where I was because I was so very small that she was afraid I would die. Within one month, as a tiny little girl puppy, I ran into a bush and lost one eye. What a way to start life, eh? But I'm a survivor as you will see, and if you think losing one eye can stop a dog, you need to read about Miko on this website .  Miko's story has given me the courage to go on and show everyone that life can be very good with the right forever person in spite of an occasional set back. My loss of one little old eye is nothing compared to Miko's miracle story. He's my hero, my mentor, my guardian angel.

I might be a little bit shy when we first meet but I warm up quickly especially if you praise me. Well, who doesn't do well with some praise, right? After that, I could very well just follow you everywhere unless I'm busy playing with my toys. I love cuddling on laps and let's tell it like it is - I need to sleep on your bed with you because I really get lonely left in a crate and I'll let you know it. Besides, how much room could I possibly take up on a bed? And it's so much warmer there than in a crate.

Now you need to remember that I'm still a puppy and I need your help with house training. I've heard before that sometimes we small dogs don't get it quite right until we're about two years old so you'll need to be very patient, understanding, and willing to work with me to teach me the right way to do things. My foster mom can give you some tips on how to help me with that if you aren't familiar with housebreaking methods. In fact, my foster mom has been praising me already because I am going to the door to signal her that I need to go out. Now if she'd just get there to open the door! Sometimes we have to train our humans, too.  *giggle*

So how about it? Are you the right person who could be with me most of the time and not leave me alone while you're gone for 8 hours? Are you the one who understands I'm still a puppy? And are you the one who could grin from ear to ear when you dress me up for Christmas with some red bows and sweaters and tell me how adorable I am? I'll be the best present you ever found under your tree and it's not that far off.

Lil Boo is now doted on by her Mom, residing in S. Surrey, B.C. Canada

Wiley
Male/neutered/shots current
5 years old
14 lbs

No folks, I am not related to Wiley E. Coyote.  I am much too cute to be related to him AND a very nice dog.  This must be the week for exceptionally good dogs arriving into Furbaby Rescue Foster Care.  I was reading through their website and there are a couple of us who are considered to be exceptionally nice.  Ohhh, I shouldn't have said that because I want you to keep reading about how wonderful I am:-)

I don't have any problems that anyone can find other than I'm a little bit on the timid side but, hey, I'm in new surroundings. I'll settle in quickly to being lap dog and a cuddle bug once I have my very own forever home. I do well with other dogs. I'm quiet and no more demanding than just wanting to be loved and cared for. I do well in a crate and I do love to walk. Someone said we walked six miles the other day. Wow, my little old legs didn't know they could go that far and still be able to walk the next day. Whew!!!

Would you consider applying for me, please, so I can be home for holidays? I might even learn to sing that song for you.

Wiley has a Dad who absolutely adores him, residing in Lynden, WA

Mia
Female/spayed
7 years old
13 lbs

Do you speak Ewok or want to learn?  Thatís Miaís first language!!  We have never heard anything like it.  When you talk to her, pet her, play with herÖ.she speaks this adorable little language that sounds like a lot of snorting, chortling, and giggling.

Mia is perfect.  No matter what you want her to do, she does it.  She follows all of your directions as if she completely understands English even though itís not her first language!  She goes out, she comes in, she comes to you, and she tries to jump up with all of her might but sheís got such short little legs that most furniture is out of reach.

Mia loves to go on walks with the big dogs.  She stops traffic every afternoon and hardly a person drives or walks by that can resist picking her up and kissing her.  Sheíd probably make a great ďbabe magnetĒ for some gentleman.

She doesnít mind the cats, doesnít mind other dogs, doesnít mind children, doesnít mind chaos and noise.  Sheís easy going, she loves having a bath and being brushed.  Sheís easy to groom.  She loves travel of any kind; car or by foot.  The other day she got strapped into a special dog seat and went on a 10 mile bike ride and as far as we can tell never stopped wagging her tail.

She uses pee pads  when she canít hold ďitĒ in, she sleeps deeply through the night, she loves mealtime.  She had so much fun in the snow and her foster mom figures she will be a great gardening companion come spring and a fabulous hammock partner once summer arrives.

Pictures and words do not do this little ball of joy justice.  You have to meet her but please be sure you want to because she will steal your heart away and snuggle right into it.

Lil Mia does have allergies, and must be on an allergy diet.

Mia has a new Mom, and daughter who love her, residing in Seattle, WA

Yoshi
Male/neutered/shots current
10 years young
12 lbs

Yoshi lost his mom two years ago when she passed away.  He has been living with family looking for a new home.  On Christmas Eve he came to us fresh from his dentist with a sparkling new smile for the New Year!  His late ownerís son knew that Furbaby Rescue would be able to find him the perfect home.

Yoshi loves to go on walks, go on car rides, be at the center of everything in the householdÖjust try to leave the house with other dogs and not him!!  But heís great staying home alone as long as he doesnít feel that heís being singled out.

Yoshi has that sweet little howl that some Shih Tzu have which we wish we knew how to turn on because it makes us giggle to hear it!

Heís a good little dog who is looking for an adventurous home with someone who wonít think that heís a middle aged dog because he never looks at his driverís license or in a mirror for that matter.  He feels young and active and he will bring that out in his new owner.  He will tell you that itís time to get up off of that sofa and DO somethingÖanything.  Bake some bread, fold laundry, rake leaves, clean the sinkÖheís up for anything and is a great companion.  So far heís been sleeping in his own ďpiled high princess and the pea bedĒ but we think in a house with fewer dogs ON the bed, he might very much enjoy sleeping with you.

Yoshi is in excellent health, has healthy eyes, is up to date on his vaccinations and recently was microchipped.  His dental health is up to date and great so heís ready to grab his lead, and head out the door with you!

Yoshi has a great Dad, residing in Marysville, WA.

Gracie
Female/spayed/shots current
10 years old
12 lbs

*Gracie's cancer finally took her life, but she was blessed with three years with a special family, she passed Feb/2014*

Hello,

My name is Gracie and Iím one of those dogs that has a sad story and I need someone very special to adopt me because I want so much to have a home again and be loved.

I became ill and was peeing little bits in the house and there was a lot of blood in my urine.  I had developed crystals and my owner wouldnít help me so he took me to the shelter because he was tired of my bleeding in the house.

The Shelter thankfully understood that I was a really nice dog and that I was sick so they didnít put me to sleep.  They removed a lot of stones from my bladder but because they didnít have an ultrasound machine they didnít know that I actually have a bladder tumor.

On Thanksgiving Day I was taken to a temporary foster home which was probably the best day I ever had in my life.  There were other dogs to play with, there was an entire huge family of nice people who gave me attention, they didnít care that I peed blood on their floors, and they snuck me some turkey.

I fell completely in love with this family but I know they are my foster family and I only get to stay with them until I find my forever home.

I am taking a medication to shrink my bladder tumor and we monitor that by doing an ultrasound.  Itís one of those situations where the medication either works or it doesnít.  After one month my tumor was 2/3 the size it was, I stopped peeing in the house and no longer have blood in my urine.  I feel so much better.  Iím also taking Tramadol so I donít hurt.

The good news is that Iím showing improvement and I am so happy all the time and energetic that it doesnít feel like I might be dying any time soon.  But the facts are that I might have three years to live.  It could be less and if there is a miracle then maybe more.  But they told me not to expect to live longer than 2 years. Obviously my doctor is thinking of the best possible outcome for me because she gave me a full dental, took radiographs, and removed five little teeth which were loose.  Keeping every other part of my body healthy is good for the part of me which is not so healthy.

So there is my dilemma.  I feel terrific, I am a loving and wonderful dog, they are telling me Iím going to die, AND I need a home.

I am,  what they call a special needs dog.    I wish more than anything I could live another 10 years because no one loves life as much as I do now that Iím in a good foster home and am no longer being punished for something I couldnít help.  But itís looking like Iím a shorter term proposition.

I get along really well with other dogs so itís not like I need to be your one and only.  I would be so happy to just be in a family and if you have another dog or two then maybe when I die it wonít be quite so sad.

My foster family is  wonderful and they will let me stay with them until I find a new home but I canít stay with them very long and soon will need to be pounding the pavement to find someone who will take me in.

Iíll be looking for you.  If you are looking for a sweet little dog I hope you find me.

Also an organization has volunteered to supply my special pills and provide an ultrasound every three months so we can make sure I'm doing well.

Love Gracie

Inky
Female/spayed/shots current
4 years old
12 lbs
Please watch my video

Inky is a petite jet black Shih Tzu.  She acts like a frolicky puppy and loves life in her foster home.  She is doing well with teen agers, large dogs, medium dogs, and smaller dogs.  She wants to play with the cats so will try to engage them and cutely bark at them.  She does fine with the cats she is living with because they are dog savvy but Inky might do better in a non cat home unless the cat(s) are tougher than she is.

She loves to play ball, go for walks, run run run like the wind, and socialize with everyone that comes to visit.  She lived her entire life in a crate but is catching on very quickly to ďpotty outsideĒ especially on a leash and since she loves taking a walk, she has made great progress.  Inky isnít particular about anythingÖshe just wants to have a home of her own.

She sleeps through the night and prefers to sleep with you though she tolerates being crated at night.  Sometimes 7 little dogs on the bed is a bit much and itís safer for everyone to have their own bed at these times!!  Inky is a precious little angel and her foster mom wishes she had the photographic skills to capture the way Inkyís eyes melt your heart.  She has a very soft little snore when sheís really ďout like a lightĒ.

Inky is pretty young still but she had entropion repair surgery awhile back so she comes to you with no worries about having to give eye drops.  Her eyes donít hurt any longer and by having the surgery she may well avoid damage, dry eye, and blindness.  Thatís a pretty terrific guarantee for a breed prone to all of these issues.

Sheís such a perfect size that sometimes she hops into her foster momís purse and they do errands together.  They like to play ďsecret agentĒ and see if anyone notices the presence of a little black dog.

Sheís great fun out in the yard, too.  We are watching the weather hoping for snowÖwe will hitch up the sled and she can either help pull or yell ďmushĒ to the other bigger dogs!

Lil Inky resides with a very wonderful family in Redmond, WA

Jordan
Female/spayed/shots current
3 years old
10 lbs

Is this thing on? ( tapping the microphone).  Um, Iím supposed to tell you about myself but Iím awfully shy and donít really know what to say.  My name is Jordan.  Iím a little girl Shih Tzu, not quite 3 years old.

Iím looking for a new home because my last owner is ill and canít take care of me any more.  Obviously Iím just a little doggie so need help and someone to care for me.  But donít worry because Iíll take care of you in ways that I am able.

Iím pretty quiet and easy to have around.  Iím used to having my foster mate Coco advocate for me and it might be good if she can continue to do that but I think I might be able to manage on my own if you are patient and can give me a lot of love.  I am unsure because Iíve never not been without Coco before.

It takes me longer to master new skills but I can learn.  I just recently learned how to jump up two steps, and brave an open door, pee on peed pads, drink from a little fountain, go on a walk on a leash, and wear a little harness since my collar keeps slipping off.  (Iím between sizes).  Iím pretty quiet but Iím always happy and you will notice that I wag my tail a lot.  Iím just learning potty training but itís making sense to me so I hope Iíll have it down before long.

I think Iím a really nice little dog with a lot to offer.  My life is an unwritten story with just a few entries so far.  Iím a little afraid of new things but am thrilled when I challenge myself and master them.  Gosh when I finally learned to go through the open door and up the steps, I must have done it for 15 minutes straightÖit was so much fun.  One thing I do really easily is come when you call me because that, I know how to do and I want to come to you and jump up on your lap.  I need a little help getting up, though because I am pretty low to the ground.

Well, come on out and meet me, see what you think, I could be the perfect dog for you and maybe you are the perfect person for me.

( addressing the audience)  Thank you.

Lucky lil girl joining the home of Shaunessy , Indy and in memory of Sully, residing in Granite Falls, WA

( Adopted Feb.5/11)
Coco
Female/spayed/shots current
3 years old
10 lbs

Coco is an adorable three year old female Shih Tzu with perfect cream and cocoa coloring, big round expressive eyes, and a sweet disposition.  She doesnít have a mean bone in her body and is a wonderful companion.

She was meant to be used as a breeding bitch but the owner became ill and the male partner passed away due to an injury.  So she got spayed this year never having had any puppies.  But she did remained kenneled until she came into rescue.

New things like freedom, housebreaking, sleeping on the bed, jumping on the furniture, going in and out, are all things she is taking on and doing well with.  Her first day she voided on a stack of pee pads, for example.  Now she is using a dog door and learning from the resident dogs how to live in a house.

Coco is in very good health and would be a wonderful companion for someone who doesnít have another dog.  Coco is used to other dogs but is used to being the top female amongst four and while her new foster situation is helping her adjust, she would probably get along better with a male or a female who isnít an alpha.  But we arenít sure about that as sheís blossoming every day.

Coco is a really nice little dog that everyone oohís and ahhís over  and she loves the attention and affection.  Sheís not looking for anything more than just a nice home in which she will be loved and get to spend time with you.

This will be one spoiled lil girl residing with two doting Dads, in Spokane, WA

Shih Tzu mix
Male/neutered/shots current
D.O.B. 11/08/2010

Hi my name is Billy .  I am an adorable puppy looking for a new family.  You will see my brother Wally below, but we want our own separate homes, we will not be adopted together (so don't ask)

Do you know much about puppies?  We play and eat and poop and then start all over again!  We are very social and loving dogs,  and are in a foster situation where we meet lots and lots of people, dogs, cats and other pups.  Our foster mom is a dog trainer... how lucky are we!)

I am crate trained, potty trained, know sit, down and come. (like all puppies should before going to their new home) I receive daily handling exercises and work on my manners every day. I attend a socializing puppy class each week too!

A reward based puppy class is required for my adoption and proof of sign up is mandatory before we go to our new home.  Due to my breed we will need professional grooming every 6 weeks, so prepare for that.
