*darling Bentley passed away from cancer July 2/10, he is missed tremendously*
Benz...(nka Bentley)itching to get a new home!

Benz is a well adjusted, happy fellow whose mom moved to a place that did not allow dogs. He is 6 years old, about 12” tall and 19 pounds. Benz has a generalized allergy called atopic dermatitis. He is allergic to wheat and several other common foodstuffs. He is also very sensitive to fleabites and other external allergens as determined by clinical allergy testing.  His condition requires he be fed a special diet and his food and treat intake closely monitored so he does not get into any forbidden foods. When his allergies flared up in the past, he was put on anithistimes and a steroid to try to lessen his reactions, which could result in skin crusting, hair loss and licking areas in excess.

Benz also needs medication daily to treat his dry eye as well as lubricating drops. There is some pigmentation of his eye from the dry eye, so his sight is somewhat effected. Benz is very cooperative about getting his meds and eats his special food without any problem. He has a special medicated shampoo to be used to help with his flaky and itchy skin. His allergies predispose him to ear infections, and yeast on his skin and in his ears.

His allergies and his dry eye are life long conditions and will require daily treatment for the rest of his life.

Please be aware of the time, money and effort that will be required for him. This is not the dog to adopt if you are a busy household with lots of activities and other commitments.

On the plus side, Benz has one of the nicest personalities! A lover and snuggler supreme! He walks well on a leash, is obedient and wants to please his people. He gets along well with other small dogs. Benz is housebroken and is learning to use a doggy door as well at this time.

His adoptive family must be able to understand and afford Benz’s limited allowed foods, treats and medication needs. Benz would do best with a low stress adult household that can concentrate their energy on his well being and care and are not gone for long periods of time. He is a special dog with special needs for special people! Benz found that special home, who was used to dealing with allergy problems, happily living in Bellevue, WA

(Adopted Sept.9/03)
Husky
Male/neutered/shots current
2 years old
17 lbs
Husky is an absolute dollbaby,he needs his person to bond with so bad, he has become my everlasting shadow, who loves to crawl inside of you. He is a very good natured boy, housetrained, good manners, he does have extremely bowed front legs with his paws facing sideways, this in no way hinders his running, jumping or anything, simply the way he was born, much like a Basset Hound.  He was pestered by young kids, so because of this, he will only be placed in an adult home only, where he can be doted on, as he sure wants this. Now residing with a really great Mom, and Dad, in Cle Elum, WA

(Adopted Oct. 14/03)
Male/neutered/shots current
3 years old

You locked me in the garage, you said you hated me, I was the EX-Wife's dog, so you took your revenge on me, why would anyone take their anger out on a defenseless baby.  My skin was on fire, from the mange, I cried in agony in my sleep, but you did not care, you just wanted to sell me to someone, to make some money, and luckily someone did rescue me, from you, I hope someday, you are locked up, in agony and left...
Today my skin is clearing, I was shown love, and beauty, and I am now in a fabulous home, who is taking wonderful care of me, I have a nice older doggie brother Kiato, and two of the kindest parents..who will make my life a living dream...thanks Julie and Ron..two special people, residing in Sekiu, WA

(ADOPTED)
Colonel Potter
Male Shih Tzu/Yorkie Mix
8.8 lbs

This little bundle of joy didn’t even hit the web page before he was adopted. Jan, my Eastern Washington Representative, knew just where he should go.  Sandy and Ernie, in Moscow, Idaho, had just recently lost their beloved 16 year old Shih Tzu – BJ, and were very lonely without her.  When Potter became available, she introduced him to Sandy and Ernie, and it was love at first sight.  Little Potter was renamed Colonel Potter. Sandy’s daughter has a Black Lab named Major, so little Colonel outranks his visiting playmate.  Potter has big dog/little body syndromeJ, and his antics put a smile on the faces of all who meet him.  He is happy as can be in his new forever home, and the empty spot left by BJ is filling daily.
