Tey
Male/neutered/shots current
5 years old
10 lbs
This sweet boy lost his home due to his parent's illness. He was rescued from a shelter 2 yrs ago into a loving home and now is having to search for a home again. He is a bit shy at first but quickly becomes a lover. He gets along well with other dogs and loves walks on his leash.
Tey likes men and women both equally. In fact he becomes so attached to his people that he can be growly when he thinks he needs to protect them. Tey does not like cats and is not a great car rider but he is a certified awesome love bug. Are you willing to invite this little boy into your heart and be his forever home?
Tey has a great
home in B.C. Canada

Tuffy
Male/neutered/shots current
18 months old
13 lbs
Hi – someone named me Tuffy but I’m no “tuff guy”. My foster mom says I’m a Romeo and hopes someone adopts me who will appreciate that and love me back.
I had an unfair start in life starting with a pet store purchase at 3 months old which means I missed out on learning some puppy socialization. After I was purchased I had a young boy in my life, and I developed a lot of fears because of how noisy/busy he and his father were. I need a nice easy going, quiet home with no children of any age. Please don’t apply for me if you have children because it won’t work and then I’ll have to find another new home.
Here’s what you can probably expect from me. I will be very shy the first day or two and then I’ll open up especially if you happen to have another Shih Tzu or mellow playful small breed dog to spend time with me. My foster mother has two nice small dogs (one a Shih Tzu) who have taught me how to walk on a leash with the use of a halter. I LOVE those walks because there are so many new things to see and smell and I like walking side by side with that other Shih Tzu. I could use a puppy class or beginning obedience class to learn some more skills but I have learned “sit”. I LOVE going for rides in the car and I sit quietly in my crate during the drive which is the safest place for me to be. I LOVE squeaky toys so if you could have an abundance of the fabric covered squeaky toys I’d entertain you with lots of squeaky tunes. I love baby carrots for treats and I’d really like you to buy the Natural Balance dog food I’m used to eating. None of that grocery store brand stuff for me. My foster mom will tell you exactly what to buy.
Let’s see, if you do that for me I can tell you that I’ll sleep quietly all night long in my crate as long as it’s near your bed. I love to put my paws up on my special person’s leg and ask to be picked up and then I cuddle into your neck. After awhile when I learn that you’ll always be there for me, I’ll be happy if you just want to stroke my silky soft fur and massage my back a little and then I’ll go back to playing or I’ll curl up on your lap.
I need
your love and understanding on two things. One, if there’s a man in the home,
it takes me longer to warm up to a man than a woman but I can do it if you
don’t push that man on me and if he’s a soft spoken gentle man. Give me a
week or two and I’ll love you both. Second, because of too many quick
movements and noise, I do have episodes of fear related submissive urination so
you’ll want to have me wear a belly band for the first week or so until I get
used to all the new sounds and actions. Just don’t forget to remove the belly
band when we go outside to go potty like my foster mom forgot to do once. She
never forgot a second time though. See, I’m a dog with a sense of humor, too.

Graham
Schnauzer/Shih Tzu
Male/neutered/shots current
App. 18 months
13 lbs
Graham is a cute, loving little boy. He loves to chew on hooves and bones, to ride in the car and to explore. He is a still very much a puppy getting into (and sometimes stuck in) the places you don't expect to find a dog. Graham is learning to walk on a lead and gets along well with other dogs. Graham gets very attached to his person and really loves to be with them. He would make a wonderful hiking, climbing companion or just a good dog for some long walks.
This puppy boy came into Furbaby after being at 2 shelters. Again he is an example of people loving a puppy but not setting limits or teaching him many of the things he needed to be a good dog and then dumping him because he didn't behave.
Graham needs an owner
with some dog experience who is willing to do some training and work with him.
He would not do well in a family with children younger than teenagers. Anyone
who is willing to put some time into working with this boy will find
themselves with a totally loyal loving companion-the dog of a lifetime.

Pokey
Male/neutered/shots current
9 years old
12 lbs
*sweet Pokey passed away from heart
failure 2014*
Pokey is a sweetheart. He is very sweet, he loves petting and tummy
rubs. He also loves to be pressed up next to you whenever you are
sitting. He almost tends to be more catlike, sleeping in the sunshine,
walking along the back of the sofa, or hanging off of it. He likes short
walks and is raring to go. He rarely barks, unless you sequester him, and he knows you are
home:-) He knows some commands, sit, beg, roll over. Loves carrides.
Wonderful to groom.
He can be a tiny bit shy when he first meets strangers, but once he knows you he
is your best friend. Pokey is housetrained, loves to sleep with his
person...just a wonderful boy.
Pokey has a sensitive tummy, so NO people food for him...
The one thing Pokey doesn't like is children stomping on his tail:-(
Pokey is a dream dog, for anyone WITHOUT small children.

Molly
Shih Tzu/Chihuahua
Female/spayed/shots current
3 years old
7 lbs
When Molly came into rescue, her coat was a mess as you can see below

So she ended up having to be completely shaved down, as the mats in her ears and
face were impossible to remove. She has such a soft and subtle coat, which
is like the Shih Tzu, and she does not shed.
Once you get to know Molly, she is a doll, she is loving, dances on her hind
legs, housetrained, and a total toy junkie...she has found every toy in this
house, and she will play for hours with them. She can live with other
dogs, if they don't get in her face..but she would be very happy as the only
one.
Molly was attacked last year by a large dog, who shook her and punctured her
neck for which she required stitches, so at times she is very head shy.
The one thing with Molly, is she is afraid of strangers, if they try to approach
her or pet her, she will scream (just one loud one, and looks as if she may try
to nip)..it took less than one week in my home, for her to trust both hubby and
myself. She loves us both, but it appeared she was quicker at ease with
hubby then myself...so please understand, what you meet is not what you
get...one week in a new home, and she will show herself as a fun lil girl, who
loves to bark at squirrels, happy to see you and dance for you.
Below you can see her sleeping after many hours of toy playing:

This lil minx was a true treasure once you got to know her, as her new parents
now do, residing happily with her new Chi friend, in Bellingham, WA

Harley
Male/neutered/shots current
3 years old
13 lbs
I am learning a lot in foster care. I am learning unconditional love,
patience and virtue. I am learning not to be afraid. With my foster
Mom, I adore her, with my foster Dad, this took a couple of weeks, and I like
him too. I will do whatever you want, just give me the command, and I
listen, I will walk like a champ on a leash, I will stay, sit, lay down, come,
rollover, lay down, watch me...just ask, and I do not hesitate to obey. It
took me awhile to learn trust in this home, but I am learning. I really do
want to do what is right, I just need patience. I love toys, I love to
run, I love to play with other dogs, but do best with dogs who don't want to
challenge me. I am very afraid of strangers, this will be a continual
challenge...I am better, but not great. My foster Mom, uses the commands,
tosses treats, and tells me over and over, what a good boy I am. Now when
strangers come, sometimes I settle down, but I will bark, and I will not act
friendly. I am so trying, I really am, I want to be loved and I will love
back, I will cuddle in your lap...I keep trying.
I am housetrained, I love my chews...I know the right understanding home is
looking for me, cause I am looking for you.
