Wally
Male/neutered
Shots current/micro chipped
3 years old
12 lbs.
Angels looked out for this boy, he was put in the shelter, where he became
terrified, he did not know, what could he have done to deserve this life, he
became very fearful, and would not trust anyone. Volunteers called me,
asking to help him. I took this frightened boy, who would lash out, and he
is now a sweet, loving boy. He is a little distrustful of strangers, but
even that is slowly fading. He is fine with my dogs, and he loves carrides,
walks, and being cuddled. Adult homes will only be considered. Wally is
now living with a super nice young couple, who are very happy with this
wonderful boy. Residing in Bremerton, Wa

Christopher (nka Shaggy)
Shih Tzu/Terrier (possibly Scottie)
6 years ?
Male/neutered
17 lbs
Christopher is such a loving boy, we fell in love with him in minutes. His
wonderful temperament, made my friend/groomer cry, that he was left and
abandoned in such awful shape. I feel like he did have a good home once, maybe
his owner died. Right now he does have kennel cough, so he is not
available till he is feeling better. He would be wonderful, in almost any
home. A family had seen this boy's picture, and could not get over the
resemblance to their own dog Sparky, so now Shaggy has his own family and sister
doggie. Residing in Maple Valley, WA
(Adopted Aug. 12/01))
Arnie
Male/neutered
12 lbs.
6 years old
Shots current
Although this boy is only 12 lbs, can we say "too many cookies" he is
a lil chubby. He is an extremely sweet, good natured boy, he likes
everyone. He recently lost his sister (doggie) and he really enjoys having
a friend, he would do best if someone was around a lot, or another dog
pal. He is very contented here with all the doggies, and he does not feel
lonely. He currently is having drops for his eyes. After many emails, phone
conversations, and getting to know the new family, I decided he was going to the
best home for him, he now has a new sister doggie, and a wonderful if not
"strict diet" life:-) Happily residing in Edmonton, Alberta
* with great sadness, Arnie went to the
bridge in Nov. 04..he had 3 fantastic years with his wonderful owners, Arnie
developed a cancerous tumor in his nose, and everything possible was done to
give him as much time as possible, he is so greatly missed ..thank you Shelley
for being such a great Mom...

Cuddles
11 years old/female
23 lbs.
Spayed/shots current
Another sad story, Cuddles lived her whole life with an elderly lady, who could
no longer care for Cuddles, and unfortunately she must not have gotten any
exercise either, as she is quite a bit overweight. She tried to rehome her with
a family member, but no one would take her, she brought her to the vet to be put
down, this is when I got the SOS call. This picture does show how her eyes
really look, when I saw them I was appalled they had been left untreated.
I have got her on aggressive meds, to see if we can restore her sight, at
present it is limited. She is a very mellow baby, and just needs the right home,
who will get some weight off of her, and take care of her
eyes. Is there someone who will open their heart to this
"chubby girl"? The home was found, and I could not be happier, this
family adopted a senior doggie from me several months ago, and wanted to open
their hearts and home to this girl. This girl will take a bit of time to
adjust, but if anyone can make her feel loved, this home certainly can.
Residing in Port Angeles, WA
*UPDATE...Cuddles
has been to a eye specialist, and her sight is being restored, she also had
teeth that needed work. Her Mom, has informed me that the old dog I gave
her, is now a new pup, she is full of mischief and is one HAPPY girl...
Please if ever in doubt of adopting an older dog, remember they still have years
of love and devotion, and with this breed can still be so playful...just ask me,
I have an older ST and to this day, I or anyone cannot tell the difference
between my young ones or the older ones.
This darling girl, had two wonderful years, with a very special lady,
maybe she would have had more time, if she had better medical care in her
earlier years...I am just thankful, she had this time, with such a caring
family.
"The Animals
Savior"
Copyright Jim Willis 1999
I looked at the caged animals in the
shelter...the cast offs of human society.
I saw in their eyes love
and hope, fear and dread,
sadness and betrayal.
And I was angry
"God," I said "this is terrible! Why don't you
do something?"
God was silent for a moment and than
He spoke softly
"I have done something." He replied
"I created You"
Wally and I thank J& L,
if not for you, his life would
have been lost.
