(Adopted April 11/03)
Leo
Male/neutered/shots current
19 lbs
3 years old
I am looking for a special home, I am a wonderful baby, in my past
life, I was SEVERELY abused
by children, they thought pulling my ears, tail and treating me badly was a fun
thing to do, it was not fun, I was hurt, and I don't deserve to be. Why did my
Mom and Dad not protect me, these children ruled the home, and no one was there
to hold me, and make it better. I am in a wonderful foster home, and I
adore my foster Mom, she takes care of me, and no one hurts me anymore. I
just want you to know, that when you met me, that I am so attached that I will
not show you how loving, and sweet I am, so you have to be understanding, and
know that if you take me home, I will love you also, if you are kind and have a
little bit of patience. I will not live with kids ever again, that promise
has been made to me, even though I know not all children are mean, just these
ones, and I will never be placed where I will ever be afraid again...I have a
GREAT new Mom and Dad, who are taking really good care of me, residing in
Ferndale, WA
(Adopted April 28/03)
Ren (nka Zoe)
Female/spayed/shots current
App. 5 years old
13 lbs
Ren is about 5 years old, but we really don't know for sure...She was a "pass around dog" this year and they dumped her at an area shelter. Totally matted and terrified...she was so scared there, she was impossible for the staff to even approach. They called us as a last resort, Ren was surprisingly quite nice with the person doing her evaluation...a little timid and antsy, but certainly not a growling, snappy dog she had been for a week with the staff. Some dogs stress out in such strange conditions and act badly due to their fear.
Ren was initially afraid of hands, she is getting more secure again with positive handling and enjoys being petted. It will take patience and some more time to show her that people are not going to hurt her. She has started coming up and asking for attention...sometimes putting a paw up on your leg or arm to get your attention. She does still have fearful moments on occasion and would be best with experienced dog owners. We will place her only in a adult home. No children under teenage please!
Ren tolerates the other dogs...she is people oriented, not dog oriented...she gets jealous if she is on the couch with a human and other dogs want attention. She loves to sleep on the bed with her humans. Ren bows to get treats and she knows a few basic commands. She does well walking on a leash. She is quiet, loves her naps and is low keyed...Ren is a smaller Tzu, about 13lbs, about 9" tall and solid black with white tipped front paws. She seems to be housebroken and is also learning to use the doggy door.

Tully (nka Gus)
Male/neutered/shots current
1 year old
17 lbs
"with great sadness cancer took lil
Gus's life in 2015"
Boy, have I been everywhere, I hail originally from Buffalo, NY. I was
bought at a pet store, as a tiny baby. My family left me, cause I was too
much upkeep, guess no one told them about this fur us Shih Tzus have.
Another family took me, for 3 days, they said I got on the table and drank the
milk, guess they don't know dogs too well..and said I nipped the daughter, well
all I know is, this little girl draped herself all over me, and did not give me
a chance to get my bearings, but this is only a story, cause no one really knows
the truth. But I got really lucky, cause this wonderful woman, by the name
of Ruth, who belongs to the Canadian ST club, was contacted, so off to Ontario,
Canada, and now my new foster Mom is contacted, since she is the Director for
Rescue for the ST club, and I got shipped to WA...(how's that for traveling)...Ruth
almost did not let me get on the plane, she fell madly in love with me, but she
knew, she had a houseful of dogs, and there would be a home, that would be able
to spend more time with me...so now I am here...and I am pulling the same stunt,
my foster Mom is also in love...I love to play, I love everyone, I am
housetrained, I love squeaky toys, and most of all I love to play gently with
Carina, but I will get up and run like the wind, with a dog who can...I am not
aggressive, I am a loving, happy boy..but because someone said I did nip, I will
not be placed with small kids...but my foster Mom, has a really hard time
believing this story...but just in case, since being here, I have been
around kids 7 and older that have visited, and I have greeted them with love...
I am a tall boy, maybe they grow us STs bigger in NY...heck just more to
love....
Wow, did Tully get a great Mom..she absolutely adores him, living a spoiled
life, in Bellingham, WA
