(Adopted Oct. 25/08)
Andie (Andrea)
Terrier/Maltese ?
Female/spayed/shots current
8 lbs
App. 12 months

Lil Andie is a dollbaby. She hasn't met anyone she doesn't like, men or women.  She loves to play with other dogs of similar size.  She loves to hang out on the back of the couch, or picks a chair to lounge in...she loves to play with toys, chew on hoofs.  She can be active, but not hyper.  Her housemanners are very good.  She would love to have a friend, or someone who loves to play and have fun.  When she is not playing, she can be found in your arms covering you with kisses, or cuddling in your lap as you watch TV.

Andie has a very slight case of kennel cough at the moment, the reason she has not been spayed yet...if all goes well, she will be spayed Oct. 21st. and ready for her new home.
She is now spayed:-)

You will love her...nice nice lil furbaby girl.
No cats, I have seen her response when she sees them...oops

Special home for a special girl, happily residing in Poulsbo, WA with Fess and in memory of Lady

(Adopted Oct.23/08)
Oreo (nka Howard)
Pug mix
Male/neutered/shots current
App. 6-7 years old
6 lbs

This funny little guy has the true pug personality…stubborn and knows what he wants. He wants his person and he wants them with him or at least to take him along. He loves his food and curling up under the covers. Loves car rides and walks. LOVES treats and kissing and cuddling with his person.

Oreo ended up in the shelter because his owner died. At the shelter he was scared and let everyone know to leave him alone. Luckily for him the shelter staff saw through him and with treats and pets discovered that he was a real love.

He takes a bit to warm up to people (treats help) but when he does he is yours forever. He needs a new home where someone is willing to be careful with his diet as he has some food allergies. He does OK with other dogs but would not do well with children or a very busy household. If you want a little buddy with lots of personality who will love. love, love you this is your man.

Wonderful home for this endearing lil boy, residing in Naches, WA

(Adopted Oct.26/08)

Betsy
Miniature Schnauzer
Female/spayed/shots/microchipped/dental
9 years old
16 lbs

A special home is needed for this VERY special girl.  Betsy is just a dollbaby, loves everyone, spirited, a heart ready to give to anyone.  She was left in her home when the people moved, and eventually put into the shelter.  The minute I picked her up, I knew what an extraordinary lil soul she was.  Her teeth were in horrendous shape.  I took her to the vet, and as we do with all our rescues, full bloodwork is done.  Sadly it was found her kidneys are compromised.  Instead of immediately doing dental, and perhaps throwing her system into overload, she was put on IV fluids for a couple of days, and returned home, to be rechecked in a week.  Once back at the vets, she was retested again.  It was decided to do the dental, as anything that will compromise her system needed to be done.  We do not know what her lifespan will be.  She absolutely does not act like anything is wrong, she loves her food, trots around with the resident schnauzer, and is just a joy.  We are asking if there is a home, that will bring this girl happiness for whatever time she has.  A few years ago, a Lhasa , named Sydney, came into my life, she was diagnosed with kidney disease, and I decided she could live out her life with us.  I was blessed with two years, in those two years, I learnt so much, she gave us so much happiness, I have never regretted that decision.  The only regret I had was the time was simply not long enough.  Betsy can bring that joy also.

Betsy found a very special home with Ginger, sadly less then 2 months after her adoption, she was found to have severe disc disease, and nothing could be done to help her...she crossed to the bridge.

(Adopted Nov.1/08)
Rafferty
Long-Haired Miniature Dachshund
Male/neutered/shots current
3 years old
10 lbs

Rafferty is a gorgeous long haired chocolate and tan doxie.  Initially he can be shy, but once he went to the dog park (off leash) he met and greeted assorted old and young dogs and many people, he was friendly and outgoing.  He let people pet him and was quite social.

Raff is very sweet, loving, affectionate, friendly, easy-going lil fellow.  He will chase cats, so he must go to a home without cats or other small prey.  He gets along very well with the resident doxies.  He walks extremely well on a leash.  We were told he was a AKC Champion show dog (only what we were told)

His biggest issue, is housetraining, as any doxie owner knows, this can be difficult...he will need a lot of one on one so he finally gets it.

Rafferty has a fabulous Mom, residing in Bellevue, WA

(Adopted Nov.2/08)
Gus
Dachshund mix
Male/neutered/shots current
App. 10 months old
16 lbs

Everybody who meets Gus can’t help but fall in love, he is an absolute sweetheart. When he moved from the shelter into his new foster home it took him no time to adjust, he fit right in as if he had lived there his whole life. Gus loves other dogs and is also good with cats; he is working very hard on potty training and is responding well to positive reinforcement. Gus is completely crate trained and will often go into his crate on his own to take a nap or chew on his treat. Gus loves the teenage kids in his foster home as well as his adult foster parents. When he meets new people he is shy for about a half of a second then he is ready to be your best friend especially if you bring a toy to play with. Gus loves to play with his soft toys and is even learning how to fetch. Everyday Gus goes on an hour walk so he is learning very quickly how to walk nicely on a leash. Gus truly is an all around great dog, who seems to love everyone. He likes to play and chase his toys, but he also likes to cuddle, his foster family has actually given him the nick name cuddle bug. He is not a barker, is a matter of fact his foster family has yet to here him bark. Gus is a happy go lucky boy who seems to just fit right in wherever he is.

Lovely home was found for sweet Gus, now residing in Port Moody, B.C. Canada

(Adopted Nov.10/08)
Spanky
Dachshund/Chihuahua
Male/neutered/shots current
8 lbs
3 years old

Spanky is a bright loving little boy whose favorite thing is to wriggle under a blanket as close to you as he can get. He loves to give kisses and get belly rubs. He gets along well with most dogs though he can be a bit bossy-he is a chi after all. Spanky is very guarded when he meets new people but once he is introduced and bribed with a few treats he quickly makes friends.

Spanky came into the shelter with a huge sore on his nose (you can see the scar in his pictures). He had been forced to live outside because he “marked” in the house and then had been muzzled constantly because he barked when he was in the yard. By the time he was brought to the shelter he had a sore from the tight muzzle that took a month to heal.  Needless to say Spanky does not trust people right away.

Spanky will need a family that is willing to work with him as he learns to trust people again. He needs people to move slowly and talk to him and to work on socializing him. Spanky is very smart and willing to listen.  A command of “Spanky, quiet” interrupts his barking and he has learned that it means to come running for his treat. Spanky loves to be a good boy. Because of the abuse in his previous home Spanky will only be placed in an adult home. He is not good with cats but he would love to have another doxie or chi or similar size friend in his new home.

Super family for a super lil fellow, residing in Richmond, B.C. Canada

(Adopted Nov.13/08)
Nitro
Yorkshire Terrier/Chihuahua
Male/neutered/shots current
App. 3 years old
5 lbs (should be 6-7 lbs)

Hi everyone!  I am VERY happy to meet you, in fact I am very happy to meet everyone!  I am an easy going, sweet, lovable little guy. I like other dogs, strangers, young people and cats!  I Absolutely adore toys (with squeakers please) I am potty trained, well mannered and enjoy sleeping in your bed.

I was found as a stray by our local shelter and when no one ever came to claim me they called Furbaby Rescue and here I am!  I had fleas  bad when I came to the shelter and I am very skinny... so I need to be on a good diet to bolster my coat and gain a pound or two.

I can get a little whiney when you leave but I settle down. This is pretty typical for a dog who has spent time as stray.. I sure don't want to live that life again.

Let me know if you want to meet!  Well, gotta go and head off to a party to meet more friends!

Nitro has a special home, residing in Bellingham, WA

Bongo
Chi/terrier/pug (we don't really know)
Male/neutered/shots current
16 lbs
App. 15 months old

Hi! I am so happy to meet you... my name is Bongo.  I am a very happy dog who is just looking for my forever home.

I originally came from the shelter, but now am in a foster home and am ready to meet my forever family. I really love walks on fun outings,  I have spent lots of time with other dogs and could adapt well to a house with another dog but would probably prefer to be your only dog as I get pretty attached to my person.

 I am very food motivated!

Other things I love:  watching tv, hanging out and eating popcorn, snuggling, laying  my head in your lap while you read... if you like some of those same things too, maybe we could meet!

Residing in Vancouver, B.C. Canada

(Adopted Dec.3/08)
Rusty
Pomeranian
Male/neutered/shots current
15 lbs
4 years old

Rusty is a pretty boy who loves people. He loves going places: car rides and walks, even a quick wander around the neighborhood. He gets along well with other small dogs (but would prefer a few less than the 10 dogs with whom he shares his foster home).

Rusty was left homeless when his person was suddenly taken to the hospital and diagnosed with terminal illness. Luckily for Rusty the friend who was coming over to care for him every day knew about rescue and he was able to come directly into foster care.

Rusty is house trained and listens well. He likes to tear through the yard but loves to curl up in a bed or cozy spot next to you in the house. Rusty will do best in a home with adults or older teens. Some dog experience would be a real plus with this boy as he learns the way around a new home. Rusty is ready to find a new person to love and bond with.

Wonderful people were found for this boy, residing in Kirkland, WA
