Buddy
Scottish Terrier
Male/neutered/shots current
21 lbs
To begin I, Eleni, Founder of Furbaby Rescue, want to thank all the wonderful
people who rallied to help this charming lil Scottie. The story began,
close to my hometown of Blaine, in Bellingham, WA, when Angie of Tails a
Wagging, put out the plea about this boy. His owner had passed away, and
he lost not only his home, but his terrier friend and a cat. He ended up
in the shelter, with little hope, he had medical issues to be addressed,
such as a very ugly tumor/cyst, bad teeth, infected ears, flea dermatitis,
possible thyroid. Jan, my volunteer from Eastern WA, took the reigns, as
she absolutely adores and cherishes Scotty Terriers, and with her dedication,
she worked hard to help him, our biggest problem facing us, was space for
foster care, and facing again huge vet bills, as these last several months, the
bills had escalated into many thousands..but the word went out, as Jan pleaded
for help, and in response, dedicated Scotty loving people rallied to help pay for his medical
*Dec. 17/03..all medical procedures have been done, and everything went well,
because of time today, I was unable to speak to my vet, to find out all the
information, will update tomorrow..and than Buddy will be looking for his
forever home.
Dec. 18/03....Buddy is home, he lost only one molar, which was terribly
infected, oozing pus, his other teeth were in relatively good shape. He will
continue for ten days on antibiotics. He was tested for thyroid, and his
does have low thyroid, and is on medication for this. The cyst (which ended up
being a good size) was removed with ease, a biopsy has been done, and will find
out the results hopefully by next week. My vet felt confident that it is
nothing to worry about, but we are playing it safe. Buddy's ear was
cleaned up, and no infection in the canal. He sailed through his surgery
and is recouping very well.
And my vet is well educated in the procedures for Scotties, giving him an antihistamine
prior to removal of the cyst, in case he was dealing with a Mass T tumor...all
in all our lil Scot is doing great...
He has a wonderful home now, in Bellingham, WA with an adorable Scotty sister:-)

Rio (nka Davidson)
Pomeranian mix
Male/neutered/shots current
App. 2 years old
12 lbs
*sadly Rio passed to the bridge Jan.11/16*
Rio
is striking little boy who prances when he walks. He is a lover and winds
himself around your hand when you pet him. He has opinions about everything and
woos and grrrs and vocalizes constantly. He likes nothing better than cuddling
up next to you but then zip…. he is off to explore the world.
Rio clearly has not had an easy life. When he first came from the shelter he would get frantic if he thought someone was trying to restrain him. His front left leg is twisted sideways and we are guessing that someone trying to hold him did this. It is probably why he gets so upset about being restrained.
In
spite of his twisted leg, Rio is a dancey, active little dog. He had had little
or no training before coming into foster care but he is very bright and truly
wants to be with his human. He has learned to come when called, to walk well on
a leash, to sleep in a crate(when the foster home gets too full-he really
prefers to sleep on your pillow), and is doing fairly well with his house
training. He will not do well with children under 14, with cats. Because of his
tendency to “vocalize” he will probably not do well in an apt or condo.
If there ever was a more luckier dog, I am not sure, he is living with such a
special home, along with his brother Harley and Junior...thank
you again Laurie, residing in Sequim, WA

Guyson (Guy)
Scottish Terrier (x?)
6-7 years old
31 lbs
Male/neutered/shots current
Guy
is one of the coolest furbaby’s I have ever had the pleasure to foster.
I have been told by Scottie experts, that he is of the old stock genetic
line, which could account for his size. He
is longer and taller than most Scottie, and weighs in at 31 lbs. Other people
think he may be mixed with something else, but if this is true, his Scottie
look, attitude and behavior is most definitely Scottie. Guy adores riding in the
car, sitting up on his hind legs and watching the world go by.
He loves walks, and is very energetic.
He gets along well with other dogs, and sits up and begs for pets and
treats. He is very loving giving kisses and “talking” to you in
his low moaning love voice! I was told he was not good with kids, and I can’t
say one way or the other, since I only have fur kids.
So we will go with no kids. I
believe he would love a playmate, but probably a dog his size or bigger; perhaps
another Scottie.
Guy now has a wonderful Mom and Dad, residing in Olympia, WA

She got her Christmas wish, with the best Dad in the world
* Feb 3/05: With deeply saddened heart, Gia passed to the bridge. Her
kidneys were failing for several months, every attempt to prolong her little
life was tried, repeated trips to the vet, subcues..but it was time for this
baby to leave her family. Her Mom and Dad miss her so much...she was
Fred's Baby Girl...you never saw Fred, without his Gia girl, in his arms.
To my Daddy Fred
Love Gia

When tomorrow starts without me
When tomorrow starts without me,
And I'm not there to see;
The sun will rise and find your eyes
All filled with tears for me.
I wish so much you wouldn't cry
The way you did today,
I know how much you love me,
As much as I love you,
And each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too.
But when tomorrow starts without me.
Please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name
And petted me with her hand.
She said my place was ready,
In Heaven far above,
And that I'd have to leave behind
All those I dearly love.
But, as I turned to heel away,
A tear fell from my eye,
For all my life I never thought
That I would have to die.
I had so much to live for,
So many more days of being loved and carried
It seemed almost impossible,
That I was leaving you.
I thought about our lives together,
I know you must be sad,
I thought of all the love we shared,
And all the fun we had.
Remember how I'd nudge your hand,
And poke you with my nose?
If I could relive yesterday,
Just even for awhile,
I'd wag my tail and kiss you,
Just so I could feel you smile.
But, then I fully realized,
That this could never be;
For emptiness and memories
Will take the place of me.
And when I thought of treats and how we shared potato chips,
I might miss come tomorrow,
I thought of you and when I did,
My dog-heart filled with sorrow.
But when I walked through Heaven's gate,
And felt so much at home;
As God looked down and smiled at me,
>From His beautiful golden throne.
He said, "This is eternity,
And now we welcome you,
Today your life on earth is past,
But here it starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow,
But today will always last;
For you see, each days' the same day,
There's no longing for the past.
Now you have been so faithful,
So trusting, loyal and true;
Though there were times you did things,
You knew you shouldn't do.
But good dogs are forgiven,
And now at last you're free;
So won't you sit here by my side,
And wait right here with me?"
So when tomorrow starts without me,
Don't think we're far apart.
For every time you think of me,
I'm right there, in you heart.
Gia
Pomeranian
Female/spayed/shots current
8 lbs
App. 9 years old
Darling, and I mean darling little Gia, has a Christmas wish, to find a home
that will love her, dote on her and just let her be a lap baby. She is one
of the sweetest babies that God created, she was rescued from the Spokane
shelter, I really do not know what her story was, but I think I can guess.
This precious soul has a broken leg, the worst teeth my vet had seen, she has
lost her sight, was not spayed, and an enlarged heart. When all of these
facts were presented, we wondered if she should go to the bridge, but how do you
let an angel go without trying. With heavy heart, we prayed and put her on lasix for
her heart, knowing that if her heart gets better, maybe we can try surgery, if
not, Gia would have made the decision for us. This lil girl did get
better, we went ahead with dental, spaying etc. The leg, well, it is
broken in such a way, that leaving it, is really her best answer, it does not
cause her distress, she uses it for balance. I know there is someone who
would like to adopt the sweetest girl in the world. She is
absolutely no trouble, she grins and wags her tail when she hears you. She
is totally housetrained. The only medication she needs to be on, is the
lasix which is cheap. She just needs her Mommy or Daddy to love her...and
she will melt your heart...are you out there, Gia is waiting for you. Gia has a
wonderful home with the foster family who nurtured her back to health, could not
part with this adorable spitfire...and yes with all her handicaps this girl is
full of herself...loved and adored in Custer, WA

Bingo
App 1 year old
Min Pin Mix (of some sort)
20 lbs
Male neutered/shots current
Bingo is a good boy, gets along with other dogs, cats, people, doesn't have an bad bone in his body. His house manners are coming along, he's so clever and learns fast! If you are looking to do agility, this is your boy! He's agile, fast, and smart!!!!
Bingo originally came from a shelter in California! He has been passed around a few times, nobody seems to want to make a commitment to him. Bingo has spent his entire life outside, so being in the house is really exciting for him!!! His house training is coming along he's about 60% there, he will not mess in his crate or space. He loves to cuddle and be with you. He loves attention, he can be a little shy of men initially but warms up quickly, there are some men he just doesn't like, we don' t know why yet but he needs to learn that men are ok. He's great in the car, and he loves chew toys.
Bingo is a little diamond in the rough, he needs, an experienced patient home, stability, training and love. He is going to be an amazing dog if given a chance, he has a heart of gold. If adopted in the lower mainland BC /Canada the new family will receive basic training classes at Absolute K-9!!!
We thank Mia www.minpinandshibarescuebc.com
who took Bingo, when
Furbaby was overrun and overfull, she took this boy and found him a fabulous

(Readopted July 22/04..due to the changes in his Mom's Life)
Doobie
Long Haired Chi/Cavalier Mix ?
Male neutered/shots current
3-4 years old
11 lbs
Do you want to meet a sweetheart, well Doobie is the boy for you, he loves
everyone, and everything, he has a smile on his face, a wag on his tail, a love
in his heart. A family had moved into an apartment, and when they opened a
closet door, Doobie walked out...where are his owners, no one knows, and I
suppose they don't care...why someone would leave this delightful boy is not
understood, but the family who adopts him will always wonder, how could you
leave this precious soul...he crawls into your heart and soul in minutes...what
a incredulous boy. His breed is a guess, he reminds us in looks like a Chihuahua
but has the silky fur and disposition of a spaniel (Tibetan or Cavalier).
Doobie got a wonderful, wonderful Mom, his new Mom had adopted Walter,
darling Wally passed away, Nov. 27/03, and her heart needed someone to care for
again...and Doobie walked into her life, residing happily in Mt. Vernon, WA..
*Doobie was rehomed to another lovely
lady, and her beautiful Min Pin X, Rosie, Doobie and Rosie adore each other, as
well as Mom adoring this special boy, now happily residing in Poulsbo, WA
(Adopted Dec. 30/03)
Radar
Rat Terrier
Male/neutered/shots current
1 year old (at the most)
10 lbs
*Radar crossed to the bridge in 2014*
Radar is a very loving
boy, but will do best in a home with someone who has some terrier experience.
He wants to sit in your lap and give you kisses, loves tummy rubs, loves to play
with toys, and pounces on them like they are his prey. He walks and
prances with glee. He is a nice lil boy. His one issue I have come
across, he can be aggressive around the food bowl with other furbabies, but not
with people. He is best if he is with another dog, that is bigger than
him, and will not put up with his foolish youth. Radar has a great home,
with a young lady, who used to live a few doors from me, has a wonderful home,
and just trying to figure out, how can a dog be so smart:-) residing in Blaine,
WA
