Cooper
Miniature Poodle
Male/neutered/shots current
5 years old
13 lbs
My name is
Cooper and I'm a Miniature "Parti"Poodle who is looking for a home
where I can receive a lot of love and attention. I have the coat of a
soft teddy bear and the heart of a lion. I love my master more than
anyone will ever know but can't understand why he leaves me alone so often.
Other dogs have told me that he has to work to support our family but all I
want is for him to be by my side loving me. I love to play with toys and
fetch balls and would make a great walking or jogging companion. I love
a warm lap and a soft comfortable bed while being the object of your
affection. I get along with other dogs but would prefer to go to a home
where I am the only one that you would love. I do need for you to
realize that I have some issues that come along with me like separation
anxiety, which I know I can improve on. I do like to occasionally bark
but I am a great watch dog who is always wanting to protect my home. I have
had to go through two homes in my life and hope and pray that you will be my
last.
Cooper has a home that totally adores him...he is so happy, residing in Birch
Bay, WA

Dexter
Tibetan Terrier/Poodle
Male neutered/shots current
18 - 20 months old
17 lbs
Dexter
is still very much a happy-go-lucky puppy. He loves to explore and run through
the house and yard with his doggy friends. He has never met a person he
doesn’t like. Every day is a new adventure to this loving enthusiastic boy.
Dexter
is a bit of a goof and needs a family who is going to go back to square one and
give him some of the training and socialization that his first family did not
bother to give him. Dexter is house trained and does OK walking on a leash. He
is good in the car; loves going out in public and meeting new people both human
and canine. If you have the patience to spend a few months teaching this pup
some boundaries you are going to have a fantastic companion.

(Adopted Aug.19/07)
Boomer
Manchester Terrier
Male/neutered/shots current
2 years old
Boomer is a wonderful calm loving boy. He loves to play with other dogs, chase balls, and ride in cars. He walks well on a leash; Comes when he is called; and cuddles up next to you every chance gets. The only thing we can’t understand about Boomer is how such a wonderful dog could have been dumped and given away so many times and having been abandoned so many times how he can still be so trusting and loving of people.
Boomer
came into rescue after some wonderful people in
After
all of his adventures, Boomer is now looking for a family who can truly make a
commitment to him. The only behavior that all of this bouncing around has left
is that Boomer is very protective of his food and of treats with other dog. He
seems to be afraid one of the other dogs will take his food and likes to be able
to eat and enjoy treats away from the others. He is not this way with people and
will let his foster mom take treats right out of his mouth. He waits his turn
for cookies and for his food bowl. He is house trained and listens well. This
boy is a true gem and whoever take him into his forever home is going to find
themselves with the best buddy they have ever had.
Great home for this displaced lil fellow residing in Vancouver, B.C. Canada

Kipper
YorkshireTerrier X
Male/neutered/shots current
12 months old
10 lbs
I'm Kipper, a very happy little guy with a ton of energy! You see not only am I a terrier but I'm still just a pup! I absolutely love playing with other dogs and meeting new people.
I am looking for a family I could really be my silly self with.
Do you know much about terriers? We can be stubborn and a bit tenacious but we can sure steal your heart. We are known for our "go" attitude and our love for all things fun!
An active home where I can get plenty of exercise is best for me. Do you love to hike and go on outings? Me too! Plan on 2 to 3 walks a day, play dates with other dogs or doggie day care for me! My great energy has got to come out some how and its best to direct it in a positive way!
If you think we could
be a good match let me know... gotta go now, and chase a
squirrel...talk to you soon!
Kipper's foster Mom wanted to add a few things, while Kipper is active and
playful, he loves to be a lap baby also, and loves to follow you
around...loves carrides, figured out the dog door in one day, is just a nice
nice boy...she adores him.
Kipper is happily residing with a sweet older beagle, in Bellingham, WA

Winnie
Rat Terrier
Female/spayed/shots current
6 years old
6 lbs
Hello - my name is Winnie and I haven't met you but I already love you! I just
know you will snuggle and hold me as soon as you see me. I am a really good
girl. For several years I was a mommy...more times than I'd like to
remember...but now I don't have to do that anymore. All I need to be happy is a
nice crate where I can eat my meals in peace and sleep at night, although I'd
rather just be attached to you! Won't you meet me and be my new forever home?
Winnie was a foster failure, her foster Mom fell so in love, she could not part
with her, residing happily in Bellingham, WA

(Adopted Sept.7/07)
Willis
Schnauzer X
Male/neutered/shots current
App. 5 years old
27 (chubby lbs)
*with great sadness, cancer took this
precious boy's life, in July/12 he will join Jock and
wait for his wonderful parents at the bridge*
Willis is the SWEETEST and easy going lil fellow, he needs to lose a few
lbs...so someone who would love to take him for walks would be great. He
loves his walks, riding in the car...he is an angel boy. He loves all
people but is reserved with young children. He loves to be brushed, and
have his tummy rubbed. Willy doesn't seem to try to get up on furniture,
but he loves to be wherever you are, while watching TV or sleeping, he is happy
having his own lil blanket and just be by his person.
Willy knows how to use the dog door, and is housetrained. This is a nice
nice boy, looking for a place by your feet, walks and lots of love.
Willy's new family had suddenly lost their beloved Jock,
and their heart needed another wonderful boy to care for, and Willy has
certainly helped heal their hearts, residing in

Sally
Jack Russell/Miniature Pinscher
Female/spayed/shots current
18 months old
12 lbs
Sally
is a very active loving happy puppy. She loves to give kisses and get them back;
she has just learned how to cuddle. She loves to be petted and to go for
car rides. She also loves her stuffed animals; her favorite is playing tug
of war and chasing after balls and toys you throw for her. She likes her chews
too but would rather bury them and dig them up later. Sally always comes when
you call her and is learning to sit. She does wind down and goes to
sleep-preferably on your bed.
Sally
is a very busy puppy who demands a lot of attention and can get into things if
she is left alone for too long. She is doing well with her potty training and is
crate trained. She would love to have another dog to play with and seems to get
along well with older children. She will need an active family with a securely
fenced yard and some outlets for her energy. She would really benefit from puppy
classes and lots of walks or runs. In return she will shower you with kisses,
love you with her whole heart and keep you laughing with her antics.
Great home for this lil imp in Port Moody, B.C. Canada

(Adopted Sept. 8/07)
Tibetan Spaniel/Pomeranian
Female/spayed/shots current
3 years
11 lbs

Tinkerbell
or Tink for short, is very shy but once comfortable with you she will bond
quickly. She loves car rides and her daily walks. She has had some
obedience training as she walks on the right side of you and watches your face.
She is working on her housebreaking and is half way there. She will sit on
your lap or next to you for hours. Her coat is soft and she just wants
your hand on her back. She is longing for her own new mom/dad to come into
her life. If you let her she will sleep with you, she will wait until you
have fallen asleep and then she heads for her crate for the night. She is
just a darlin’ little girl who loves and loves. Plays nicely with other
dogs but is hesitant with small children. She would love a person who
stays home most of the day for regular outside visits.
Great Mom who takes Tink everywhere, residing in Seattle, WA

(Adopted Sept.16/07)
Lucianne
Pug/Chihuahua
Female/spayed/shots current
5 years old
11 lbs
Lucie
is the sweetest, most loving dog I have ever met. To know her and to be around
her is to have her crawl into your heart. All she wants in life is to be with
her mom and stay by her side. She is house trained and has wonderful manners; is
great in public and will go anywhere as long as her person is there. Lucie came
from a home with another dog so we do not know how she would do being left at
home without any company but with other dogs she is fine. She just sleeps and
keeps her ears open for her mom’s step at the door. Then she comes alive.
Lucie
has lived with men and women, with cats, dogs and older children. She would be a
great condo or apt. dog but she wants a person, preferably a Mom, who will take
her everywhere and will be with her most of the time. In return she will
make sure that you are not only never alone but you are loved as you have never
been before.

Jeeves
Chihuahua/Papillion
Male/neutered/shots current
3 years old
10 lbs
Jeeves will make some lucky person(s) very happy. He is such a sweet
little dog who loves to be with you all the time, but he can be on his own
too. He gets along with the resident dog and other dogs he meets on his
walks and at the dog park. He is potty trained, walks perfect on a leash,
doesn't bark a lot, loves to snuggle up next to you and plays fetch really
well. He is just a doll. It is like his foster home has always had
him, because he is such an easy going boy. This is the kind of rescue dog
people dream about adopting, sweet, easy and loving. The foster home does
not know about children, he only took about 5 minutes to warm up to the foster
Dad. He is a little scared by loud noises and unexpected movements,
probably because everything is new to him. Jeeves was found as a stray in
Seattle, and no one came to find him...too sad.
Although great with other dogs, cats are too enticing and he chases them,
so a home with no cats is best.
New Mom and Dad who adore him, residing in Friday Harbor, WA

(Adopted Sept.23/07)
Hunter
Toy Poodle
Male/neutered/shots current
2 years old
8 lbs
Handsome Hunter was purchased from a pet store as a puppy by a family who did not have time for him or the experience to train a dog. Then when they had to move a couple of years later, they dumped him in the shelter. He was extremely frightened during his stay there, so the shelter staff called in rescue to help. All he would do during his stay there was hide in the corner and cringe when anyone came near. He didn't understand why all of this was happening to him. He is doing much better now in his foster home and is currently seeking a new family of his very own that is willing to be patient with him and also continue with his socialization needs. He is, as most Poodles are, a very smart little guy and learns quickly. Hunter does warm up to women more rapidly than men, but he will warm up to men if given a few days and much understanding of these needs. We think at this time he may have been mishandled by a man in the past which is why he is displaying this behavior. When he first came to his foster home, he did not like his foster Daddy, but in a weeks time and extra attention and treats, they are now the best of buddies. He will run to his foster Daddy when he comes home from work and jump in his arms.
Hunter is a very active young pup and loves to run those extra long legs of his around the yard with the current canine residents at warp speed showing off. He is always in the lead and always wins and is a thrill to watch. He can also be very vocal when he sees strangers approaching so another good reason to get him right into a basic obedience class to give him that exposure. He is not at all shy about letting strangers know just what he thinks of them, but I think with training he can change due to how young he is. He is very sweet once he settles in and is just wanting a family who will love him as he deserves to be forever and ever. If you are consistent with potty breaks, he is doing very well here with few mistakes. He is crate trained as well. We are working on the leash and he is improving there too. He knows 'come' and 'sit', but pretends he doesn't remember what they mean when he wants to. Stinker! What a character and he is always putting a grin on my face!
Due to how well he is
doing with the other dogs here, I think it would benefit Hunter to have a
companion of similar size and breed to help him burn off some of his energy.
Also, he is such a quick learner he has picked up so much from
watching my dogs here and I think that has helped with his adjustment.
Right at this time, he does not care for larger dogs and will bark at kitties
and give chase. He may change later if someone is willing to work on
these issues. Hunter will need a new home with dog experience and an
Adult Home Only. Also, a fenced yard is preferred at this time.
This special lil boy has a fabulous new home, with an adorable Yorkie boy, and
two outstanding parents...residing in Gig Harbor, WA
