Female/spayed/shots current

The Meaning of Rescue
Now that I'm home, bathed, settled and fed,
All nicely tucked in my warm new bed.
I'd like to open my baggage
Lest I forget,
There is so much to carry-
so much to regret.
Hmm...Yes there it is, right on top
Let's unpack Loneliness, Heartache and Loss,
And there by my leash hides Fear and Shame.
As I look on these things I tried so hard to leave-
I still have to unpack my baggage called Pain.
I loved them, the others, the ones who left me,
But I wasn't good enough-for they didn't want me.
Will you add to my baggage?
Will you help me unpack?
Or will you just look at my things-
And take me right back?
Do you have the time to help me unpack?
To put away my baggage,
To never repack?
I pray that you do-I'm so tired you see,
But I do come with baggage-
Will you still want me?
Madison comes with a full set of luggage, they tossed her away, she was bought
as a puppy for the kids, the kids taught her nothing, except fear and regret,
this was the only life she knew. Now she is untrusting, she has a deep
soul about her, but she will take time. She needs a home that will just
let her be, come around on her terms, I know she wants to, but dare she love
anyone, that brings pain to her. She can be nippy, unless she learns to
know and trust you. No children, adult home only, and only one that is
willing to allow her space, time and love. If you want a dog that will
instantly bond, she is not that girl...but if you have a big heart and are
willing to go the extra mile it takes, she will surprise you.
A gracious and kind hearted lady, took on her baggage, to throw away, and never
to pack again. Living happily with another rescue boy, who is just like

Carina's story, you will see that this boy has become her surrogate Dad.

Mishekie (nka Kiley)
Female/spayed/shots current
4 years old
14 lbs.
*Sadly this darling lil girl passed to the
bridge Aug/11, she had 9 wonderful years with her amazing parents, she is so
missed*
You can call me Mishekie,
but I usually go by Kye, when I hear my full name, I think I am in trouble, and
how the heck could I ever be in trouble, I am just too nice, well Ok maybe I
don't like the rain (heck do you like getting wet, and living here in the NW, I
am always getting wet, so I put my brakes on) but I love it when it is warm and
sunny outside, than I will happily be wandering around. I like people, in
fact I love people, I am a people kind of girl, I like other dogs, but big dogs
scare me, so I don't want to live with any of them. I like toys, and you
will find me sleeping in the toy box. I really don't have any issues, but I have
some quirks, sometimes when you pick me up, I squeal, not because you are
hurting me, it is just me, I like to do this, for whatever reason, and since I
am a girl, I don't have to have a reason, girls are always right aren't
they? I can live almost anywhere, as long as you love me, and give me time
to love you back, after all I am a Lhasa, which means I am proud, smart,
determined. If you want to adopt me, here are the rules, no big dogs, you
know the kind that are the size of a Dalmatian, lots of toys, let me sleep in
your bed, and put down a wee pad when it is raining, cause I might not want to
go outside, perhaps if you put your rain coat on also, I might be good, but no
promises...and if I forget, you better love me to bits. I also am VERY
allergic to fleas, that is why I am sporting this horrible haircut, I got some
hotspots from a flea biting me, and I needed attention to them, but if you keep
those nasty bugs off of me, I do not have to look so ridiculous and have this
awful short hairstyle. I personally hate it, cause I have the most
gorgeous coat...and PS if no one told you, I know obedience, but I am a Lhasa,
so I might only be obedient if the mood strikes me.
I am not sure who has more fun, me or Kiley, when I converse with her new
parents, I laugh so hard...she is their precious lil girl, and I am happy to
have met such grand people...residing in Powell River, B.C. Canada

Teddie
Male/neutered/shots current
4 years old
19 lbs
Hi, my name is Teddie, I was a lucky boy, a nice couple found me in the shelter
in Ohio, I was a mess, my teeth so badly infected, my coat in shambles.
These people did not even know what kind of dog I was, except I needed help, so
I did not get taken to the bridge before my time. They cleaned me up, and
got me healthy, eventually they moved back to Washington, and realized as much
as they cared about me, I was not a dog that fit into their lifestyle, I am a
sweet cuddly boy, who loves your lap, short walks (nothing long I might lay
down), I love to sleep curled up with you, I like other dogs just fine, I have a
wonderful, absolutely endearing personality, I think I have been mistaken for
those other cute dogs, Shih Tzu, but I am just a good natured, and loveable
boy. I have not been around young kids, so I think I will stay away from
them. I like everyone though, sometimes I act a bit shy, but hey it is
just an act, give me hugs and cuddles, and I will hug you back...oh yea, I like
car rides, preferring a lap while driving, and I like to watch the world go by...
Well I certainly got the car ride, my new parents saw my picture, and hopped in
the car, and drove all the way from Alberta, Canada, they said "he's the
one" and darn they were right, cause they scooped down, and have given me
the best home...and I got this great lil sister too...so I am now a Canadian
